Preston Bridge School is a special school for pupils aged 6 - 19, situated in Paignton, Devon. Our creative, individualised approach to learning, is centred around well-being and skills for independence. From the time our students arrive, we start thinking about where students will be moving to after they leave us to ensure they are well prepared to achieve their goals and succeed.

As we expand to a second site we are looking for a DSL who will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school. As part of the school senior leadership team they will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment of children.

They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.

Applicants will need to demonstrate relevant experience in safeguarding young people and and a good understanding of safeguarding within a school environment. However, a teaching qualification is not a requirement for this post.
