**The Charity**

St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

The Maintenance Support role is primarily to provide support to the Planned Preventative Maintenance Team and the Building Maintenance Team to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed to meet St Andrew’s Healthcare strategic, operational and financial objectives. Duties will include a full range of painting and decorating maintenance tasks and you will carry reactive repairs across a wide range of specialist areas.

You will be expected to provide a comprehensive painting and decorating service for all areas of the Hospital and will carry out necessary painting maintenance tasks to ensure the up-keep and to improve the overall look of the hospital. You will undertake rotational area painting duties along with reactive calls for add-hock reported defects, reporting to the Maintenance Team Leaders.

**Required skills and Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrable and proven experience of working in a property maintenance environment.
- Previously worked as Maintenance Support, Caretaker / Handyperson or Painter / Decorator
- Experience of Carpentry / Decorating and Plumbing and basic awareness of Mechanical & electrical plant and equipment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- Good levels of interpersonal, communication and time management skills with an ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written with both internal and external customers. Be highly self-motivated with the ability to prioritise work, maintain confidentiality and work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Offer flexibility at all times as the occasional need to work unsociable hours will be required.
