**Salary**: £24,575 pro rata (rising to £26,075 from 01.04.24)
**Hours**:35
**Status**:Fixed term - 12 weeks
**Closing date**:24 April 2024
**Job ref no**: R00505

**Be part of building Scotland's future**:
What will you be doing this summer? How about getting paid to work on real projects on a scale you never thought possible before graduation? Join our Undergraduate Summer Placement Scheme and expect interesting, vital and hands-on work with experienced people you can learn from.

You could be meeting with our clients - the companies innovating and scaling to improve Scotland economically. You’ll work with colleagues from across our extensive network. Crucially, you’ll get world experience to complement your studies. By the time you go back to uni, you’ll have played an important role in helping us secure a prosperous future for Scotland.

We're Scottish Enterprise - Scotland's national and international economic development agency. We work to transform the Scottish economy. What we do really matters: from helping to create high-value jobs and boosting productivity to growing Scotland’s wealth. It’s success you could soon be part of.

**The opportunity**:
Scottish Enterprise’s International Division works with the largest home-grown and foreign-owned businesses in Scotland. We take an account management approach to providing these businesses with the right support at the right time - developing strategic growth plans that enable them to achieve growth through investment, innovation and international trade.

Our work contributes significant economic impact through transformational projects across all sectors. And as we look to diversify our portfolio of companies, particularly in the Energy Transition sector, we want you to work with us on a bespoke project.

**The role**:
You’ll be working with the support of our team on a project to identify companies we could be helping. You’ll look for strategic alignment with several potential companies, and set up meetings to explore joint opportunities between them and Scottish Enterprise. In particular, you’ll:

- Develop a picture of Scotland’s large company base, its impact on the economy, and the approach each company takes to productivity
- Create a summary of our global company account management offering
- Identify what makes a large company a good fit for account management
- Set up meetings for account managers with a number of prospective large companies
- Attend meetings to explore relationship-building opportunities

**Who we're looking for**:
Success in this role will depend not only on your positive, can-do attitude but also on your ability to carry out economic and industry research and share your conclusions in a compelling way. This means you’ll need to be comfortable collecting, handling and interpreting data. Strong people skills are also vital, as you’ll use one-to-one and group discussions to gather information. You’ll also research individual company strategies, news and activities, and identify key people for our business development teams to approach.

**Life at Scottish Enterprise**:
As one of Scotland’s Top 10 Flexible Employers, we pride ourselves on empowering our colleagues to work when and where they prefer so that they deliver as best they can, in support of our corporate plan.

**How to apply**:
Interviews will be held on 7 and 8 May 2024.

We celebrate shared success and learn together when things don’t go so well. And we always treat each other fairly, with respect and understanding. Together, we are the difference.

We have the following networks which are open to all colleagues to help drive inclusion: Disability Positive, Gender Balanced, Multi-Cultural, Multi-Generational and Pride (LGBTQ+).
