Following the promotion of the previous postholder, Beccles Town Council are looking for an enthusiastic and competent administrator to join our small team. The role involves a range of administrative duties, including being the initial contact for enquiries to the Council from members of the public, supporting the Mayor and Councillors with civic events, and assisting the Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk with the Council’s communications.

Specific responsibilities:
To carry out routine administration and clerical duties, as directed by the Town Clerk, to ensure that documentation and records are kept up-to-date and accurate.

3.To ensure that paper and electronic records of minutes of council meetings are kept up-to-date.

4. To be responsible for, or as appropriate assist with, preparation for functions of the Town Council such as Mayor’s Reception, Carol Services, Annual Awards presentation and parades, and attend such events, as reasonably required by the Council.

5. To carry out secretarial duties required by the Mayor.

6. To manage the bookings and maintain user group records for Blyburgate Hall and raise invoices monthly.

7. To support the Finance Officer with routine financial transactions, including banking cash.

8. To be responsible for the smooth running of the allotments, in liaison with the Beccles Allotments & Gardens Association, including carrying out site inspections, and invoicing the allotment tenants annually.

9. To work with Town Clerk to develop the council’s communications, including updating the Council’s website and Facebook page, and producing the Council’s newsletter in a timely manner.

10. To prepare marketing materials such as newsletters, advertisements and posters pertaining to the Council and Trust, including working with the Town Clerk on the production of Town Guide and Town Council’s Annual Report.

11. To undertake ad-hoc administrative and project-based duties and events.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £13.72 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
