**Job Purpose**
To support the Principal Investigator (Dr Neil McDonnell) and Co-Investigators (Prof. Murray Pittock, Dr Pauline Mackay, and Prof. Maria Economou) in the co-ordination and management of the Museums in the Metaverse project. This project involves co-ordinating activity with heritage partners (The Hunterian, Historic Environment Scotland, and National Museums of Scotland), technical partners and subcontractors (primarily edify) and test audiences to the successful delivery of the Museums in the Metaverse project.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Responsible for co-ordination and management of work-packages required for the successful delivery of the project.
2. Responsible for management of project budget in co-ordination with Principal Investigator.
3. Administration of all project related documentation.
5. Manage the interaction with external partners, including: co-ordination of plans for the delivery of required milestones, monitoring progress of work against plan, in the event of disruption, evaluating alternatives for assessment by the project team.
6. Communication with all relevant sponsor and stakeholder communities, including consultation and management of expectations; reporting to project board, engaging stakeholders from across the University.
7. Provide Project Team and Project Board with regular project updates and briefings to make sure they have a clear understanding of the status and any emerging risks or issues for their Project.
8. Deployment of a robust and responsive risk management approach to identify, assess, monitor and actively manage risks.
9. Ensure that there are appropriate quality management processes in place to ensure that the final deliverables of projects comply with stakeholder requirements, appropriate legislation, University policies and procedures, and industry best practice.
10. Engage in reasonable professional development activities as appropriate.
11. To contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s strategic plan.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar related role(s). Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.

**Desirable**
B1 Project Management qualification and thorough understanding of project management methodologies.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**

**Essential**
C1 Co-ordination or management of complex projects across the full lifecycle with a successful track record of delivery.
C2 Ability to write detailed project plans and ensure these are agreed and communicated with the project team, project board and stakeholders.
C3 Demonstrably excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical.
C4 Ability to challenge the status quo effectively and develop innovative approaches.
C5 Relationship management, engaging and positively managing relationships with those delivering and affecting by change.
C6 Proven ability to liaise and cooperate with people across organisational boundaries.
C7 Creating and maintaining schedules of work as an active tool for staff delivering work packages.
C8 Effective writing and communication skills to produce clear project management documents and sponsor and stakeholder focused content.

**Desirable**
D1 Reporting experience with Innovate UK grants
D2 Leadership and motivational skills in formal and informal situations.
D3 Extensive knowledge and exposure to the IT system development lifecycle.
D4 Extensive knowledge across a range of information systems.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 6, £31,502 - £35,308 per annum pro rata.
This post is part-time (17.5 hours per week), and open ended with funding available until 31 March 2024 in the first instance.
