Job Introduction
The Reward Specialist is a role working within the Reward centre of expertise and the broader BBC Studios and Public Service HR teams, collaborating with other centres of expertise, in-house shared service centre and divisional HR Business Partner teams. This role supports the wider team’s activities and takes a lead on particular reward activities, including job evaluation, pay benchmarking, data analysis and our governance processes. The role will be based within, and dedicated to, our commercial subsidiary, BBC Studios. It will also require involvement in reward projects across the wider BBC Reward team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a specialist area as part of BBC Studios, the BBC’s commercial operation, as well as to be part of the wider Reward team which supports both public service and commercial subsidiaries across 65 countries.

Main Responsibilities
Support the Reward team and divisional HR BP teams on operational Reward matters, providing reward guidance and insight to support effective strategic and operational decision making.

Provide support on significant pieces of project activity, for example annual pay award, Pay Progression implementation, incentives reviews, process reviews, International job pay range reviews etc.

Proactively engage with wider BBC People projects, seeking responsibility and demonstrating passion to drive key projects and initiatives.

Build strong relationships with internal and external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders to scan for emerging trends, innovations and current best practice.

There are also opportunities to shape the role and develop reward business partnering experience, both in the UK and with our international operations.

To be successful in this role requires being truly passionate about making positive changes and using expertise to create a great working culture.

Key skills and experience required:

- Analytical and data management skills, strong competence in Excel (and ideally Tableau)
- High attention to detail
- Excellent relationship building, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience of delivering HR advice, process and policies
- Ability to support the delivery of complex projects across the organisation

Primary accountabilities:

- Data analysis and insights generation
- Supporting and leading reward projects (such as annual pay award, bonus cycle, pay range review)
- Ad hoc query resolution / providing advice to HR Business Partners in BBC Studios in the UK and internationally
- Creating and evaluating new roles in the Career Path Framework
- Designing Job Pay Ranges for new roles internationally
- Managing ad hoc and cyclical benchmarking requests
- Bonus management: preparing timelines, making calculations, validating decisions, ensuring accuracy
- Bonus cost modelling
- Managing regular Pay Committee (governance body for certain pay decisions)
- Production incentive scheme: year-end reconciliation
