We are recruiting several residential support workers to work in our home in the Cannock/Rugelely area. Residential Support Workers will be employed in one of our Homes which supports children and young people with;
- learning difficulties, behavioural challenges or

You will Provide a nurturing, therapeutic environment and care, support, and supervision to help the children and young people to progress. This includes household tasks, cooking, shopping, laundry and independent living skills to the children and young people.

The role consists of working a variety of shift patterns, shifts. Sleep in duties may be required which are paid at an additional rate.

Due to the needs of these young people, experience of working with vulnerable individuals is desirable.

**The Role of a Residential Support Worker**:
Always ensure that the ethos of the Statement of Purpose is applied.
- Adhere to statutory and Beacon Childcare Ltd policies and procedures.
- To be a Key Worker where designated and contribute to the child or young person’s plan which reflects his / her care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs. Ensure that this plan is regularly reviewed in conjunction with other team members.
- Be alert to signs of distress or abuse and to ensure that the child or young person is monitored and protected. Work within the safeguarding and child protection guidelines, following the reporting procedures where appropriate.
- Be aware of children’s rights and work in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner.
- Work restoratively with the child or young person and maintain the restorative process. To involve the child or young person in this process and encourage them to be responsible for their actions. Assist them to find ways to resolve disagreements and conflict by working restoratively.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and other family members; social workers; school staff and other professionals with a concern for the children’s needs such as general practitioners or psychologists.
- Ensure young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive. Promote the participation of the children and young people placed at the home.
- Contribute to childcare planning and review meetings when required.
- Ensure that confidentiality is always maintained and observe data protection guidelines.

**Person Specification (Essential)**:

- Evidence of successfully working with children and young people
- High degree of resilience
- Good communication skills

**Person Specifications (Desirable)**:

- QCF Level 3 - Working With Children & Young People, (Or equivalent)
- Driving Licence 2 years minimum (manual)
