- Job description**Local Intelligence Officer**

**Stuart Ross House, Warwick**

**Fixed Term Contract (18 months)**

**Full Time**

**_ Salary (£28,530 - £33,348)_**

The main purpose of the role is to develop intelligence taking account of policing priorities and threat, harm and risk in support of operational activity.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Proactively identify, gather, and evaluate intelligence to facilitate the achievement of crime and disorder reduction objectives, meeting operational and strategic intelligence requirements. Ensure that intelligence relating to threat, harm or risk is managed as a priority.

Produce intelligence products linked to operational activity to support decision making in order to proactively target crime and criminals prioritising the force and local control strategy offences.

Conduct intelligence driven briefing, tasking and debriefing in a manner that is driven by, and contributes to, the use of intelligence to support organisational objectives. Conduct debriefs ensuring that results of tasks set and intelligence gained is recorded.

Conduct operational activities including foot and observation point surveillance, execute search warrants and complete all appropriate administration and documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.

Provide intelligence support for major incidents and enquiries.

Provide continuity for exhibits and act as exhibits officer if required within the intelligence development of an operation / project.

Engage with external agencies / partners as required, seeking to nurture relationships to enable the dynamic two-way passage of intelligence.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

**Knowledge**:
Accredited as an Investigation Professionalisation Program (IPP) Intelligence Officer (or be working towards the accreditation).

Detailed understanding of the National Intelligence Model.

Knowledge of the Management of Police Information (MOPI) policy, disclosure and information sharing principles.

Knowledge of intelligence policy and procedures.

**Experience**:
Substantial experience within a policing intelligence environment with recent usage of policing and intelligence systems, and experience of dealing with threat, harm and risk.

Experience of working to multiple deadlines and delivering results through effective planning and organising of work.

**Key Skills**:
The ability to review, analyse, edit and collate material from a wide range of different sources.

Ability to assimilate and assess information and compile concise reports

Excellent written and oral communications skills including presentations / briefings to groups.

Shift working including unsocial hours and weekend working.

The duties of this role involve prolonged periods of walking and OP surveillance.

Travel throughout Warwickshire.
