**Rate of Pay: £23.00 - £27 per hour**

**Summary**:
Working in multi-functional teams covering the collection of local taxation, cashiering, customer contact and other debts owed to the City Council.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide administrative support to the Revenues Service, including but not limited to tax collection, cashiering, customer contact, visiting functions, and attendance at the Magistrates Court to provide administrative support.
- Take steps to safeguard benefit expenditure, prevent and detect fraud, and work cooperatively with investigators, staff, and other organizations to tackle benefit fraud and other forms of fraud while maintaining standards of integrity as laid down in the Code of Conduct and Personal Standards of Behaviour.
- Contribute to continually improving customer access to quality service by working as part of an integrated team.
- Assist in delivering the Council’s commitment to excellence and customer service.
- Effectively use relevant ICT systems and assist in the creation, development, and maintenance of records, files, and statistical information.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures and codes of working practice to form part of a comprehensive quality approach to service delivery.
- Provide administrative services and use, develop, and maintain procedures and codes of working practice that maintain and enhance quality.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities within the grade of the post and work within the Council’s commitment to equal opportunities and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the provision of the Data Protection Act and related legislation is observed to protect the dignity and rights of the individual.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all duties and responsibilities comply with all statutory requirements and with policy and procedure.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a revenue or finance-related setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues from various departments.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Data Protection Act, is desirable.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.
