As the Management Accountant you'll support management accounting and project reporting, ensure complete and accurate financial records and support the business with clear accurate reporting, effective processes and procedures at the Royal College of OccupationalTherapists Ltd (RCOT).

**Description**

To support the financial accountant in preparing the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, calculating, andposting of monthly accruals/prepayments. Deferrals and all other month end journals.

Assist with consolidation of monthly accounts, budget packs and re-forecast packs

Assist with KPI Reporting

To support the financial accountant in posting journals and preparing reports for (currently 14) regional groups and the (currently 11) specialist sections

To assist the project managers with the production of monthly project reports for each project and highlighting any issues

Assist the project managers in preparing business cases

Assist with the analysis and interpretation of financial data to support strategy, theories, and ideas, to help management understand financial trends and identify opportunities

Provide information and assistance to the external auditors as required

Provide information and assistance to the internal auditors as required

Uploading and reconciling budgets into finance system

Run and save month end aged Debtor and Creditor reports

Be part of finance team rota for checking weekly payment runs for approvals

To assist/support new and existing staff members on the financial system and team procedures and cover the team members during period of absence

Ensure that the accounting records are maintained to a high standard. Oversee the processes to enter all transactions so that financial reporting is prompt and efficient

To attend management meetings, staff meetings and other BAOT/RCOT events as required

To ensure that all personnel policies and procedures, standing financial instructions and Health and Safety at Work Regulations are complied with

To carry out any other duties including ad hoc projects as may reasonably be requested in pursuance of the post

**Profile**

Part Qualified from one of the recognized Accountancy bodies (e.g AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA)

Experience as a Management Accountant or an equivalent role

Experience of working within a similar role within a charity or not for profit organisation

Advanced knowledge of excel

Experience of using SUN accounting systems

Experience of managing a computerised accounts system, including producing reports

Able to work under pressure at certain times of the year and meet deadlines

Excellent numeracy skills

Able to work on own initiative as part of both a small and large team

O365 experience and experience of using SharePoint

Experience of supporting other team members with accounting activities

A demonstrable passion for including Equity, Diversity & Belonging principles across all areas of work

A demonstrable passion for embedding environmental sustainability principles across all areas of work

A willingness to attend relevant internal and external courses that assist in enabling the effectiveness of this role

Compliance with the annual appraisal programme

The ability to identify appropriate training needs
