This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in compliance, to influence and contribute to patient safety at the Trust. The role offers the opportunity to deliver a comprehensive administrative service for NICE, Clinical Effectiveness and Patient Safety alerts in an NHS hospital.

The role will require autonomous partnership working with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as collaboration with the Governance and Compliance teams.

The post holder will need to have excellent communication and advisory skills coupled with an interest in IT systems, processes and detailed administrative work.

Key tasks will include the collation, dissemination and coordination of clinical effectiveness information. This role is significantly important to delivering assurances that guidance at Sheffield Children’s is followed, ultimately contributing to excellence in patient services.

Working within an established and diligent Compliance team to maintain quality administration services around the compliance portfolio and workstreams. The team are dynamic and driven to ensure stakeholders are engaged and supported. Working in a busy office environment, across multiple sites. The management team enable a degree of autonomy with a supportive operational outlook.

NICE
- Co-ordinate the dissemination of all consultation documents, collate responses and feedback to NICE/Commissioners in a timely manner.
- Maintain the NICE section of the Clinical Effectiveness System. A monitoring tool for recording progress and current position with Clinical Effectiveness and NICE guidance information. Ensure that all guidance is monitored and that an internal tracking system is in place and maintained.
- Facilitate and foster a collaborative approach to implement NICE guidance and quality standards in relation to other development work within the Divisions.
- Encourage healthcare professionals to adopt a proactive approach in preparing for the forthcoming guidance, working with them to assess current clinical practice and consider the potential financial implications and planning required to ensure successful local implementation.
- Pro-actively support colleagues to review guidance and evidence from a number of different sources using a variety of library services, computer databases and web-based resources, as well as collecting and collating guidance which is sent to the Trust from external sources e.g. National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Assist/direct staff at all levels from a wide range of specialties and core departments (within the Trust) with completion of appropriate documentation to ensure the relevant information is collated for all NICE guidance.
- Be responsible for ensuring that progress against NICE guidance is monitored and that all internal tracking systems in place within the Trust are maintained in order to reflect the current position.
- Work closely with the Quality and Governance Facilitators to ensure relevant audits for NICE and other compliance requirements are undertaken in a timely manner.
- Ensure, along with the Quality and Governance facilitators, timely delivery of NICE audits within agreed deadlines and to maintain regular follow up of agreed action plans.
- To act as a point of reference on NICE guidance for the Trust and acting as a focal point for the receipt and dissemination of evidence based guidelines across the Trust.
