Operations Manager to help lead Warehousing, distribution & purchasing for multiple locations
**Your new company**
You will be working for a leading business in the area that is looking to grow its presence and as a result is looking for an ambitious Operations Manager from a distribution background to join the team.
**Your new role**
In the role as Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing warehousing, purchasing and distribution activities for the business. You will manage 2 despatch locations and 2 further storage locations within the local vicinity of the business. Youwill lead the team and will need to drive the performance of the business whilst ensuring that costs are monitored and all company values are adhered to. You will need to make changes to the distribution process to ensure that it is operating at the most efficientlevels possible, this will include training staff and introducing KPI metrics that can be monitored. You will need to work with suppliers to introduce SLA's and improve the relationships with them. You will need to look at the quality control process alongwith upholding high levels of health & safety management across all sites. The customer are central to what this business does, so you will need to ensure that customer experience is always at the forefront.
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to succeed you will have worked in a leadership role within a warehousing and distribution focused environment and will have a good understanding of how the wider operation should run. You will have strong people leadership traits and will be confidentin leading on change management initiatives. You will need to devise and implement strategy effectively across the business to help make improvements and solve problems. You will be passionate to drive change and will have the softer skills to get everyonein the business on board. You will be a clear communicator and will have a good understanding of IT systems including WMS and ERP. This is a role that will offer you full accountability for the direction of the warehousing and distribution teams and it isan extremely interesting time to join the business.
**What you'll get in return**
In return you will join an ambitious business and will receive a starting salary of between £55,000- £65,000 along with other benefits.
