A new opportunity to work within our Procurement Operations Team has arisen. We are looking for a Procurement Operations Administrator to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

**About the Role**:
The Procurement Operations Administrator is vital to our Institute as an integral role that is seen as a key point of contact for Procurement, providing support on operational activities to ensure that the scientific community receive excellent customer service, from every interaction, to achieve value for money and excellent standards of supply.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Providing administrative and operational support to the Procurement Operations team.
- Contributing to the continual review of forecast and management of constraints.
- Delivering first class customer service to our stakeholders and ensure that enquiries are completed professionally and efficiently.
- Providing support and insight to scientists with non-procurement backgrounds to allow them to focus on their scientific goals.
- Working independently to ensure a continuous improvement mind-set.
- Maintain order systems and processes.
- Management of day to day Expedite procurement activities.
- Monitoring shipment and delivery queries.
- Assisting suppliers, Finance and Accounts Payable with PO delivery and invoicing queries.
- Working closely with Finance, Accounts payable and Finance Systems Team.
- Maintaining personal / professional development to meet the changing demands of the role.
- Contributing to the development, implementation and continued improvement of procurement related working instructions and guidelines.

**Essential Skills**:

- Previous experience in a customer service/administration role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to make quick decisions and work independently.
- A people person with a desire to deliver above average levels of customer service
- Good numerical skills
- Have strong organisational skills and being able to balance your workload with deadlines.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Flexible and adaptive approach to change.

**About Us**:
The Procurement Operations Team manage the requisition and purchase order management process, including expediting overdue orders, to provide insight to end-users.

We work closely with our Finance colleagues to ensure a seamless Procure-to-Pay mechanism. We're also responsible for the Procurement Systems which enable our activity and our supplier governance control system.

By collaborating closely with the Supply Chain team we review the current Material Forecast and manage tactical supply constraints as and when they occur.

**Other Information**:

- Salary in the region of £25,000
