Cheltenham Open Door is a small charity with a big heart. It provides support for those who are struggling with homelessness, addiction, mental and physical health issues, poverty or isolation. We receive no government funding; we literally wouldn’t exist without donations. It’s therefore essential that we support our donors before and after they fundraise or donate. We are looking for a positive, creative Support Coordinator to help us say the thank you that our donors deserve.

In the role of Support Coordinator you will:

- encourage, publicise and celebrate donors and fundraising events.
- be the first point of contact for existing and new supporters, responding to enquiries about fundraising activities and potential financial and physical donations.
- build relationships with existing donors and create new relationships with organisations able to support us.
- organise and administer in-house corporate volunteering opportunities.
- attend pre-organised fundraising/awareness-raising/stock-generating events to represent

Open Door, support donors, receive funds and create media content.
- create physical products like leaflets, certificates, donation bins, donation buckets and newsletters and organise their production and distribution.
- work closely with our Donation Coordinator (responsible for physical stock) to ensure appropriate physical donations are requested and received.
- administer our database of supporters and our presence on donation platforms.
- investigate and administer financial giving channels.
- track, record, interpret and recommend action on supporter statistics.
- be creative: able to design engaging online content and paper marketing products.
- write well: have a flair for well-written prose and interesting content and understand the needs of different audiences.
- show initiative: design and maintain recording documents, analyse and recommend action in relation to supporter data, propose additions and improvements to our supporter processes and products
- be positive: be a cheerful, approachable representative of Open Door for our supporters and a confident, gregarious presence at events.
- be flexible: happy to work when and where it suits the needs of events and social media. Able to travel where required (usually locally).
- be collaborative: able to create and maintain positive relationships and easy information
- sharing with other Staff, Volunteers and Trustees.
- be organised and detail-driven: able to organise and adhere to their own timetable, keep accurate records of donations and donors and provide appropriate and timely information to other Staff, Volunteers and Trustees.
- Talent for design or creation
- Experience in the charity sector
- Experience of stewardship, promotion or customer care/service
- Experience of producing well-written communications, personally or professionally
- Experience of producing content on a range of social media platforms
