**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Since 2018, The Place has provided a welcoming, supportive environment for families in Faringdon with children under 5. It’s a community based charity, guided and governed by the Steering Committee of Trustees, supported by Faringdon Town Council and a number of local funders. The service has developed over time to meet the needs of local parents, babies and young children, run by a small Spurgeons staff team, led by the Co-ordinator. There is plenty of variety in this rewarding role from planning and delivering the programme of groups and sessions, to liaising between the different partners and agencies involved in supporting local families. _[Our current Co-ordinator is retiring in the autumn]. _**This is initially a fixed term role until 31/10/2024.**

**ABOUT YOU**

You are an excellent, personable communicator and leader, able to confidently manage the range of tasks involved in this well respected, popular local service. You will have a good understanding of the importance of child development, play and positive child/parent relationships and know how to ensure these elements run through sessions and activities. Your ability and experience of building and managing good relationships with a wide range of people is vital to the continued success of Children and Families at The Place. You understand the part played by Spurgeons Values and Behaviours in creating an environment where families, colleagues and volunteers can contribute and be motivated to do well.
