**Salary: £23,855.76 per annum, pro rata**

**Hours: 30 per week**

**Purpose**
- To provide outreach 1-1 tailored structured interventions to children and young people (CYP)
- To be able to adjust the 1-1 sessions to work with children, young people from 5 year to 18 years.
- Listen to the voice of CYP, advocating when needed.
- Educating (CYP) on Healthy/Unhealthy relationships, safety planning, emotions, and feelings.
- Equip (CYP) with self-help tools & strategies to promote sustainable good mental health & well-being, building confidence and resilience.

The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Youth Impact directorate, which works to provide one-to-one support for children who need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services around the country

**Skills**
- Ability to engage children and young people in emotional health and wellbeing work.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Communication skills - specifically for: language/learning needs, sensitive issues, professionals, and stakeholders.
- Has a flexible approach to help and support CYP needs.
- IT skills, particularly using Microsoft Office software package and case recording systems online
- Assessment and evaluation skills
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to plan and manage own workload
- A child centred approach is essential.

**Work-based Knowledge**
- Knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of needs of children and young people who have been exposed to domestic violence & abuse (DV&A).
- An awareness and understanding of relevant research and legislation including safeguarding legislation and procedures.
- Demonstrate an understanding of trauma informed practice.
- Effective methods of working and communicating with parents/carers and young people affected by domestic abuse.
