Mensis Accounting is a well-established accountancy practice that values high standards and proper relationships with its clients. **About You as our new Accounts Team Leader**
We are too busy now to not have a team lead in our Accounts department. Without bringing your experience in to supervise, track and evaluate our Accounts team’s day-to-day activities, we cannot help more businesses to meet their targets and ensure their compliance is completed on time.
You’ll work closely with our Tax and Payroll departments, and lead a small team of 4.
**Some of the accountabilities for you, as the Team Leader, and your Accounts team**:
- Produce monthly management accounts including full reconciliation of balance sheet
- Analysis of accounts
- VAT and CIS returns
- Pension auto-enrolment
- Liaise with clients
- Meet all filing deadlines
- Maintain practice records and management information
- Payroll cover
- Anything else that needs to be done to ensure we are meeting our client's expectations
**Your skills, experience and personal qualities will include pretty much all of these**:
- Proven Practice experience as an Accounts/Bookkeeper Team Leader or Supervisor, or senior bookkeeper with team responsibilities.
- You’re a natural at building and nurturing strong working relationships with clients and your team.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices, standards, laws and regulations.
- Experience in accounts production for a variety of entities from sole trader to Ltd.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office and Cloud accounting software, ideally with excellent user knowledge of at least one of these: Quickbooks, Xero and/or Sage.
- Proven ability in processing VAT returns, and perhaps CIS returns also.
- You love to keep your payroll knowledge and related laws up to date.
- Knowledge of auto-enrolment legislation.
- An Accounting qualification to Level 4.

**Salary**: £27,200 p.a
**Based**:Hybrid - your home and our office in Berkeley, Gloucestershire
**Working hours**: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week
