Staff Support Practitioner

To support the delivery of the Health and Wellbeing agenda to ensure Occupational Health and Wellbeing becomes a key Trust priority. Work as part of the OHWB team to increase awareness and accessibility of wellbeing offers. Provide professional advice and support to all members of the MDT relating to staff wellbeing. To provide specific advice, education and support to employees which involves communicating with clients individually and also in a group situation providing health and wellbeing education and motivation in a caring and empathetic manner Provide regular proactive, workplace based, consultations with individuals and teams to assess needs.
Provide health coaching based interventions to support behavioural changes where relevant. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, intervention and discharge of clients on the personal caseload. Ensure health records are updated contemporaneously in line with statutory requirements and best practice. Develop and deliver regular training in relation to specific wellbeing themes eg stress management, sleep issues.
Provide clear explanations of expectations and scope of role and maintain boundaries appropriate to an employer delivered wellbeing service. Ensure appropriate signposting, referral and professional support when faced with scenarios outside the scope of the role. To be responsible for own Continuing Professional Development to maintain up to date knowledge and skills in wellbeing interventions and to contribute to the development of other healthcare professionals. Ensure areas of relevant existing professional expertise are harnessed and maintained for the benefit of CDDFT staff e.g mental health management, vocational rehabilitation.
Provide feedback for all interventions to contribute to wider evaluations and proposals for new wellbeing initiatives. Analyse performance data and capacity and demand data and produce regular reports. Evaluate services and provide guidance on innovation and service improvements. Utilise electronic computer systems on a daily basis and associated word processing/other software including bespoke occupational health clinical system To fully engage with regional developments in the provision of Occupational Health Services across the NHS.
Lead on the development and implementation of new working practices relevant to role. Develop knowledge of the Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) Occupational Health Service standards to maintain accreditation and implement as appropriate. Participate in the development and review of policies/procedures within OHWB in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders. Contribute to financial initiatives within OH&WB To understand and comply with consent and confidentiality requirements when sharing highly complex sensitive, confidential and at times contentious information.
Deliver presentations to promote and enhance the service. Develop and deliver training in own specialist area.
