**Key Responsibilities**:

As a call handler you will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives, healthcare professionals and other callers. Using software systems to record patients' demographics and basic clinical information, you will assess their condition and ensure they are directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional.

You will provide assessment, basic advice and health information to patients calling 111, supporting them to access the appropriate level of care including advice to manage their symptoms at home.

**Skills and experience**:
- Be an effective communicator (Both verbal and written)- Possess engagement and influencing skills with effective listening skills- IT Literate- Be able to deal with confidential/sensitive and/or distressing information- The ability to work under pressure- Minimum of 3 GCSE's at Grade C or above, including English- The ability to show and convey compassion, integrity, empowerment and resilience

Due to the nature of the role an Enhanced DBS Check will be required prior to start, 10 weeks full training will be provided on site,
**100% attendance is required during the 10-week training period in order to continue with the role.
