**About The Role**:
Compass Community is an independent children's services agency committed to caring for nearly 2,000 children and young people in Fostering, Residential Homes and Education. We strive to support children’s needs cognitively, socially, emotionally and sensorially.
Therapeutic Services at Compass is growing and developing. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Independent Therapists and Psychologists across all therapeutic professional memberships to be part of our Multi-Disciplinary Team Approach.
Given the bespoke nature of therapeutic needs in our young people, we are ensuring that we develop a broad range of theoretical understandings from a variety of therapists. This means that determined by your specific skill set, some opportunities include the provision of single assessments for court or EHCPs, therapy assessments or ongoing weekly therapy.
As an Independent Practitioner, you will have opportunities for CPD from our Practice and Process Therapy Meetings and be able to benefit from our ongoing training workshops.
To enable the advancement of our approach of Assessing and Healing Complex Trauma (AHCT) you will join together with our team to ensure that bespoke assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, therapeutic interventions and resources are provided for our children who have lived with the complexities of Trauma, Loss and Abuse. This may also include those with Neurodiversity and Learning Disabilities.
Recognising the destructive elements that Trauma plays on Child Development, our team promotes a philosophy of holistic support and working together both in our organisation and with outside agencies. You will be included in Team Around the Child Meetings.
**You will have**
- Passion & strong emotional intelligence
- An understanding of the importance of collaborative working to achieve the best for Children in the Care system
- An understanding that assessments and therapeutic interventions may at times require flexible, creative and mindful techniques.
- A relevant professional qualification.
- Postgraduate experience (preferable).
- Membership of relevant professional body.
- Enhanced DBS
- Strong report writing skills.
- Kept up to date with developments within the profession by attending appropriate courses, conferences and meetings as per your CPD requirements.
Our offer includes a competitive hourly rate as per professional membership, including report writing and admin.
Compass is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As we continue to grow, we know that we must have the most talented employees with diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences to support our children and young people.
