We have an exciting opportunity to join us to lead our Student Wellbeing team at the University of Southampton. The Student Wellbeing team provides a range of specialist support to our students throughout their studies enabling them to make the most of their time at University and develop healthy habits to last a lifetime.

**About the Role**

The Head of Student Wellbeing is responsible for providing expertise and direction to the two core teams within our Student Wellbeing function, ensuring a seamless and safe student experience and creating a culture which puts students at the heart of decision making.

Our 24/7 Wellbeing Team operates 365 days a year to proactively support students in maintaining their wellbeing through advice and guidance and works closely with teams across the university to maintain a safe and positive student experience, day and night.

Our Multidisciplinary Team provides practical support to students experiencing a range of personal and emotional difficulties through specialist interventions including Student Support Review and counselling. The Multidisciplinary Team also includes a team of harassment professionals who provide specialist advice to students and work with internal and external stakeholders to promote our Expect Respect campaign.

The postholder is also responsible for developing and maintaining our partnerships with health professionals and organisations which help us extend our support to students to fully meet their individual needs.

**About You**

We are looking for a strong leader with excellent communication skills and proven experience of managing outcomes in relation to student wellbeing. Committed to high performance and continuous improvement, you will have a good grasp of the challenges facing higher education, with a track record that includes managing a team in a relevant context, risk assessment and crisis management in challenging situations.

As our Student Support provision operates a 24/7 service, you will be expected to be a member of an ‘Out of Hours’ rota that provides management escalation for our 24/7 service.

An enhanced DBS check may be required for this role.
