The **Vehicle Diagnostic Authoring Team Lead **will join a friendly and collaborative team to develop and deliver technical information for a well-known automotive OEM.

We’re looking for dynamic, engaging individuals with leadership qualities and/or supervisory experience, who have either Mechanical / Automotive Engineering, Master Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Technician experience. EV/Hybrid experience would also be beneficial.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be the contact point for team members to achieve and deliver projects efficiently and meet your team goals.
- Predominantly, you will support all aspects of diagnostic technical authoring, testing and solution development towards guided diagnostics.
- Diagnosis of complex faults based on initial symptoms / Diagnostic Trouble Code’s (DTC)
- Interpret complex engineering information and deliver content in an easily understood and unambiguous way.
- Determine and author the process workflow required to resolve faults which will be implemented into a guided diagnostic system.
- Manage and publish the content into the diagnostic software for intended use by dealer / technician.
- Liaise with engineering stakeholders to gather information.
- In addition and with the support of the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and successful delivery of projects for the following teams:

- Diagnostic Authoring
- Description and Operation (D&O)
- Electrical Information
- eLearning

**Essential Skills**:

- Hands on vehicle workshop experience is key - the role involves diagnosing initial symptoms related to Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) to provide guided solutions.
- Be able to visualise workshop diagnostic processes in a digital engineering environment, so having a feel for realistic work parameters in automotive diagnosis is a must.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic software.
- Analytical skills and experience of troubleshooting to diagnose faults in a logical and concise manner.
- Prior experience and working knowledge of hybrid, electric vehicles and internal combustion engines.
- Use of CAD and CAD visualisation tools are an important part of the role. We will provide training on all Technical Authoring software if needed.
- Organisational and project management skills; your responsibilities will include understanding and implementing how your work interacts with a vehicle programme’s product development lifecycle.
- Experience of leading or supervising a team
- Understanding team members’ strengths and weaknesses to support growth and development
- Providing training and mentoring
- Attending appraisals and giving constructive feedback
- Providing direction and guidance to motivate good working practices
- An eye for detail and accuracy
- Good problem solving and evaluation techniques.
- The ability to multitask and balance frequently changing priorities is essential.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Degree or relevant/applicable experience
- Full Driving License

**Desired but not essential**:

- Trained in Simplified Technical English
- Diagnostics authoring experience
- Experience of using 3D CAD or modelling software
