Heavy Duty Vehicle Technician

TXM Recruit is collaborating with a client seeking an experienced HGV Technician for maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and servicing of a fleet of heavy goods vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hands-on work with various components such as body panels, engines, or larger components.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Diagnostics: Regularly inspect vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on engines, brakes, transmissions, and suspensions.
- Electrical and Fault-Finding Work: Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, and control modules to resolve issues.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with legal standards and conduct necessary safety checks.
- Record-Keeping: Document all inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks for compliance.
- Adaptation to New Technology: Stay updated on emerging vehicle technologies, especially for electric and hybrid HGVs.
- A technical qualification or proven experience of repairing and maintaining vehicles (LCV/HGV Technical/Mechanical Engineer qualifications, 2 or 3 NVQ level, IMI Level, or City & Guilds).
- HGV Class I would be beneficial.
- Flexible working hours.
- Overtime available at 1.5x hourly salary.
- In-house training provided.
- Competitive hourly rates with shift allowance.
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
