**The Role
** Do you have experience driving large vehicles such as a Mercedes Sprinter van or a Minibus? If so, we are looking for you.

Middlesex Association for the Blind is seeking a Driver / Project Manager for our Mobile Resource Unit (MRU) which is a converted motorhome. The objective of the MRU is to create awareness around visual impairments within each of the nine Boroughs we operatein.

The MRU is instrumental in promoting our services, advertising the Association and providing members of the public with an opportunity to test specialist equipment designed to assist people who have a visual impairment.

**Key Responsibilities:
** The key responsibilities of a Driver / Project Manager include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure both the inside and outside of the vehicle remain clean and tidy at all times
- Drive and park the MRU in a responsible and conscious way, ensuring road safety for both you and other drivers.
- Liaise with local authorities and parking enforcement agencies to secure parking of the MRU in areas of high footfall, such as pedestrianised shopping zones.
- Report KPI's on a monthly basis directly to the CEO.
- Actively engage with members of the public to create awareness about sight loss conditions
- Provide information and advice to people with a visual impairment, their families & carers about the work we do as a charity and refer clients internally to our other services.
- Refer clients to external agencies, such as the local authority or other third sector organisations.

** The Middlesex Association for the Blind supports people with a visual impairment to lead full, active and independent lives. The charity provides services for people living in Brent, Harrow, Barnet, Ealing and surrounding boroughs.

The charity also provides information and advice for carers as well as details of local and national organisations for blind and partially sighted people.

**The Person
** The key skills and qualities of a Driver / Project Manager are:

- No previous experience of working in the sight loss sector is required, as training will be provided. However, previous experience is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of driving large vehicles such as a Mercedes Sprinter van or a Minibus.
