This post is a CAMHS liaison practitioner role to work within the acute trust.

The post holder will work as a specialist nurse within the wider mental health team based within Walsall Healthcare Trust.

This post is to support the care and treatment for CYP in a crisis that attend or are admitted to the hospital.

The post holder will be supported by the Lead Nurse for mental health and the Divisional Director of Nursing for Paediatrics to support the delivery of excellent care for our CYP in crisis.

The Post holder will be imperative for building relationships with partner organisations and delivering projects of work to improve care and treatment.

**The main duties of the job are**:
- Work with partner organisations to identify and improve areas of care that support any CYP in crisis.
- To develop and deliver tailored training packages to acute trust staff.
- To work as part of the paediatric management team and support learning from mental health related incidents
- To act as a specialist nurse in supporting the delivery of care plans and interventions to complex CYP who may present or be admitted to the paediatric ward.
- To support and undertake audits
- To review and support any learning from incidents and support the governance processes within WHT.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities. Work is also well underway on its multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which will house a new Emergency Department (including Children's Emergency Department), co-located Paediatric Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Urgent Care Centre. This is scheduled for completion this year.

We are looking to recruit a passionate CAMHS nurse or a Mental Health Nurse that has a specialist interest in working with under 25's.

We are seeking a mental health nurse that is flexible, dynamic and able to work autonomously in practice. This is a developing role within the acute trust, and we welcome new innovations and quality initiatives.
- Effective communication skills, including having difficult and challenging conversations
- Visibility within the clinical area, to grow trust and confidence
- Strong decision making, ensuring that timely decisions are made to allow the ward to run efficiently and safely
- Risk and incident management experience, including evidence of how you have disseminated information to teams and embedded changes
- Leadership and management of the nursing team, including effective roster management, managing sickness absence, conversations regarding role expectations
- Accountability of self and others to ensure that the Trust values are lived and experienced by every patient
- The ability to influence and work within a strong multi-disciplinary team
- Team development and growth through support, appropriate delegation, and innovation in approaches.
