We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated Registered Nurses with excellent communication and clinical practice skills with a desire to work with our learner Health Care Support Workers (HCSW s) in practice and support their learning needs. You will need a flexible approach to working across the trust to support HCSW's. This is a pivotal role that supports us to develop teams that can deliver the right care at the right time.

The role aims to support HCSWs, new to care HCSWs and HCSW apprentiships. You will enhance the quality of nursing practice and patient experience.

Applicants must already hold their NMC PIN number and shortlisted applicants will be asked to attend a formal interview.

The clinical educator roles are designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for staff. The role aims to provide both pastoral and clinical skills support.

The clinical educator will support HCSWs with induction to the Trust, achievement of the Care Certificate and ongoing training and development.

The role will involve supporting HCSW in Practice and the post holder will need to be clinically competent and sufficiently experienced to do so. You will provide support and advice to the clinical teams. You will also contribute to the development of educational resources to support learning and monitor effectiveness of inputs.

The role aims to enhance the quality of patient care and positively contribute to the future healthcare professional workforce and ongoing development of existing staff

Main Duties
- Identify existing and potential learning opportunities for staff
- Foster a learning environment within the clinical areas, ensuring staff are encouraged to develop and update their clinical expertise in the care of patients.
- Develop communication networks and close working relationships with managers, Practice Educators & the Clinical skills team
- Provide education, training and supervision to staff.
- Work with departments to ensure new HCSW receive induction and orientation to the placement area.
- Build on and enhance the current development activities including simulation by designing, delivering and evaluating education and training..
- Provide support to new HCSW's ensuring they are allocated Buddies to work with in clinical practice.
- Assist with staff in difficulty and support HCSW's during their induction and probationary period.
- Develop own clinical, education expertise
- Act as an expert resource for the completion of the Care Certificate, in house competencies and further education in conjunction with local Colleges.
- Design and deliver bespoke training relevant to the wards
- Build relationships with other organisations to optimise learning opportunities, share ideas and seek new and innovative methods of delivery.
- Contribute to the deliver of the trusts strategy ‘Thriving People, healthy communities’ by engaging with activities that contribute to trust objectives.
- Be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the clinical setting aswell as the wider organisation
