West Midlands, United Kingdom SEVERN TRENT Full time

Our people are what makes Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work. We’re a team of over 7,000 people with a purpose to deliver one of life’s essentials. We do it all while thriving in our unique culture and making a lasting difference to our planet, society, and careers.

Collectively we provide a critical national infrastructure to millions of customers in our region, so the only question iswhy wouldn't you want to be part of that?

**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**

Working as part of the Severn Trent Academy, we’re recruiting for a **Technical Trainer** to deliver high quality training and development to our front-line teams in Operations.

In this role, you’ll support the Academy Operations team in planning, creating, and delivering a range of courses and training which will develop our people in Water Treatment, Waste Treatment and Water and Waste Networks, helping to create a fully trained and competent workforce.

Currently, a lot of the training delivered by the team involves physical training on the equipment used within our frontline teams.

Some of your other accountabilities will include:

- Preparing courses, including researching, and creating all teaching material with learning aims and assessment criteria.
- Attending standardisation meetings and working collaboratively with your peers to maintain the consistency and quality of our training content and delivery.
- Demonstrating the correct, and safe, use of specialised equipment and materials.
- Undertaking formative assessments of learners and adapting the delivery style to meet individual needs.
- Conducting summative assessments, judging competency, and creating development plans with the learner and their manager if necessary.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**

To be successful in this role, it’s essential that you have previous experience in Operations (Water Treatment, Waste Treatment or Water and Waste Networks), or a background in Utilities. It’s preferred that you’ll have experience in Training, Learning and Development but training in this area will be provided to the successful applicant.

You’ll need a practical mindset and be able to safely use a variety of specialised equipment and materials. You’ll need a creative and curious mind which will enable you to produce interactive learning sessions, ensuring they’re memorable and relevant for their role.

It’s expected that you’ll have the passion and motivation to deliver an exceptional learner experience, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, can influence teams and individuals, and will be able to build effective relationships across Severn Trent and at different levels of management.

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care.

**Is that you?**

**WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU**

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent, and we’ll reward you for it too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you’ll get being part of the Seven Trent family:

- Salary of £30,000 - £40,000
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
- Leading pension scheme - we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
- Car allowance of £3,360 per annum
- Sharesave - the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
- 10% monthly discount with Busy Bees Nurseries and one-week free childcare
- Dedicated training and development with our Academy
- Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
- Family friendly policies
- Two paid volunteering days per year

**We can’t wait to hear from you.**
