Green Spark Utility Services Ltd provide services on water sewerage and drainage infrastructure in the water industry and private sector. It has an advanced and extensive range of machinery, equipment, and experience for identifying potential issues and providing cost effective solutions from blocked drains to cleaning large diameter pipelines.

The Technical Service Delivery Lead will help drive the business forward by promoting and selling our services with future and current clients and provide technical support to the field technicians in their core activities as well as providing support to the operations supervisor as required and cover during holidays. You will support the business development manager in scoping and quoting new works.

Recommend the appropriate methodology equipment and vehicles suitable for carrying out the task.

You will lead the growth of the Van Pack business in the northeast as well as working with the Operations Supervisor and the rest of the team to support all elements of the other drainage and wet well works we conduct out of Gateshead.

You will work with the Office Manager, Supervisor and the Field Team to ensure that our processes are organised and support with administration.

You will form relationships with the clients, identifying opportunities for additional works onsite and opportunities to grow the business with our existing client base.

A full clean driving license is required. Primarily based out of our Team Valley depot, servicing contracts within the Northeast, there are occasional times when working and staying away from home is required as well as occasional planned weekend or night work. You’ll be part of a standby rota for out of hours calls to ensure the business can fully meet its service Level agreements with its clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Van Pack business in the Northeast and identifying potential customers.
- Developing, scoping, pricing and winning new business leads for the Van Pack
- Developing growth strategy for additional vans / equipment to continue growth.
- To confidently quote for new works. Plus be able to create presentations and present back to new and current clients.
- Work with the office manager and operations supervisor to support on key activities as required, for example, organising vehicle maintenance, Scoping and pricing new works and conducting safety audits
- Supporting the rest of the team as a drainage technician or CCTV operator when required
- Working on call as part of the overall rota.
- Respond to technical queries from customers and the team as required both within normal working hours and outside working hours on a rota basis
- Report to the Head of Utilities on recommendations for new vehicles and equipment in order to ensure that the team have the tools required to perform their work to the optimal standard
- Keep in tune with the drainage market, reporting to the Head of Utilities ideas for new products and services that GSU can move into in order to seize growth opportunities.
- Work with the Business Development Manager to scope new opportunities and deliver a costing model
- Identify opportunities for new sales with existing and new customers and either pass on to the BDM or sell individually if possible
- Measure customer satisfaction onsite and work with team to identify areas for improvements and reinforce positive behaviours
- Audit sites across the area and across all of the team to ensure standards are improved, performance is optimised and all members have regular feedback on their work
- Lead by example in everything that you do
- Deliver tool box talks to the team to ensure that relevant HSE information is passed on to the team
- Be flexible to take on other work outside of core remit to support the HoU

Essential Skills
- Be an advocate for excellence. Lead by example and drive the team to follow
- Technical knowledge of all the equipment and its uses
- Excellent IT skills with Powerpoint/Outlook and excel
- Confident in presenting to clients.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in the drainage industry
- Ability to empower a team to deliver to the best of their ability
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Work well within a team and share your knowledge
- Ability to report basic information to the HoU, such as vehicle utilisation, customer feedback, market opportunties and equipment condition
- Able to prioritise and manage time self effectively
