A workshop assistant is required to assist with manufacture and assembly of lightweight decorative components alongside our workshop team in a friendly and reputable decorative metalwork company, which has been running since 1881.

We are looking for a driven and motivated assistant to join our decorative metalwork team, predominantly in our decorative grille making department. You will be helping our friendly and hardworking team manufacture high quality decorative grilles and interior products for clients in the U.K. and abroad.

Metalwork experience is not essential but ideally you will have workshop experience in a similar role, involving accurate measurement and assembly. This job would suit applicants who have experience of making items with their hands, either at home or in a previous position, but we are particularly looking for applicants who have good general workshop or manufacturing experience and are confident using hand held tools.

For the right person this role will develop as you learn more about the products, gain new skills, and gain experience, including helping to produce complete products; polishing and colouring metals.

Starting rate depends on the skills you have. Our lowest level for new recruits is above the minimum wage.

Those who can prove they have greater skills immediately or learn quickly will see their remuneration increase the fastest.

**Hours**: 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (earlier start/finish in summer)

**Holiday**:28 days paid holiday per year (includes statutory holidays - pro rata)

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**:Must be good with your hands, with experience of practical work, be able to use a tape measure and a drill, perform simple maths calculations and have a positive attitude to work. All training and tools included.
