The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Public Partnership Coordinator to coordinate public partnership activities across Newcastle Health Innovation Partners ( NHIP ) and the Clinical Research Directorate ( CRD ) in Newcastle Hospitals. Public partnership activities will include patient and public involvement, engagement, and participation activities in health research within the two organisations.

NHIP is just one of eight designated Academic Health Science Centres in England, committed to improving health of the regional population through research, innovation, education and training. The CRD is the hugely successful research function within Newcastle Hospitals.

Reporting to the Head of Public Partnership, the post holder will support the development and implementation of public partnership strategies and be a point of contact for public involvement activities across NHIP and CRD. This varied role will include coordinating meetings, events and a new public partnership training programme.

There will be opportunities to work alongside and support an inspiring mix of researchers and clinicians, public involvement professionals, public contributors and local community representatives.

Key Accountabilities Champion the value and importance of public involvement in health research and help amplify their voices at every level of NHIP and the CRD Support the development and successful implementation of public partnership strategies for NHIP and the CRD including patient and public involvement, engagement, and participation activities Act as central point of contact for public partnership activities for NHIP/CRD, signposting public contributors and research staff across Newcastle University, Newcastle Hospitals and partners Collaborate with NHIP and CRD and partners to design, plan and deliver a new joined up public partnership training programme for researchers and public contributors Deliver effective accountability for public partnership activity across NHIP and CRD by leading the administration of the public partnership governance meetings, on behalf of the Head of Public Partnership Coordinate and deliver effective communications to facilitate a joined-up approach to public partnership in relation to NHIP and CRD activities including campaigns, publicity materials and reports, website content etc Assist the evaluation processes for NHIP and CRD public partnership activities to ensure a strong feedback loop to public contributors and partner organisations Be aware of and comply with current data protection legislation; and ensure that all activity, data collection and management comply with these demands Any other relevant activities required by the Head of Public Partnership and NHIP and CRD
