MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To effectively liaise with patients, General Practitioners, hospital staff and other professional bodies acting as a focal point for all general enquiries concerning the work of the clinical team. To receive and register referrals into the service on SystmOne or other electronic/paper based systems as required. To ensure confidentiality and safe custody of patient case notes, filing all relevant documentation in correct order and ensure adherence to the Case Note Tracking Policy. Deal with general enquiries into the Specialty including telephone calls and bring these to the attention of the appropriate staff To assist in the provision of cover for other colleagues during absences.

Any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post as delegated by Cardiology Senior Medical Secretary. COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Cardiology Senior Medical Secretary. The post will involve regular communication and liaison with specialist nurses, exercise professionals, Consultants and hospital based staff as well as GP surgery staff and community nursing teams. May be required to liaise with other local NHS Trusts and service providers.

The post will involve dealing with queries from service users and carers as well as members of the public.
