Adult Social Care in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where our passionate, caring and committed professionals do brilliant work every day.

Mrs D was frail and unwell. Her son was her main carer, but he wasn’t coping. We stepped in to help, but they were hostile to outside agencies. They’d always lived together and were terrified they’d be split up. Our social worker did a great job persuading Mrs D to get hospital treatment and a temporary stay in a care home. In an epic effort throughout COVID, she gained the son’s trust and sorted all the repairs, carers and nurses needed so that Mrs D could come home to live with her son. We also got Mr D regular respite and a personal budget awarded in recognition of him as her carer. After all, there’s nothing more important than living the life you want.

**The Role**:
The Public Health department’s ambition is to ensure residents across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea can be well, live well, and stay well. In this role, you’ll live and breathe this goal. Building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and proactively identifying links between public health priorities and Council aspirations, you’ll work creatively to identify effective interventions, channels, and tools to engage audiences, influence perceptions, and change behaviour informed by data and insight.

**About You**:
An established communications professional with significant experience of leading and implementing communications and press activity, you’ll have managed complex communications systems within a political environment in a previous role. With an excellent knowledge of the health and local government system, you’ll be capable of managing delivery partners to achieve specified outputs, and utilising a range of communication tools, techniques, and channels.

On a personal level, you’ll be a natural communicator with excellent project management, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills. You’ll be a true team player, capable of cultivating meaningful and productive working relationships and motivating your colleagues to get the best results. Most importantly, you’ll be a person passionate about improving public health outcomes for residents across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.
