**As Head Housekeeper you’ll**
- Be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the housekeeping department daily and managing your small team of staff.
- This is a very hands-on role, you will be expected to be in the rooms, working with your staff, maintaining, and promoting standards, leading by example, training and motivating your team.
- You will be responsible for ensuring all rooms and public areas adhere to company standards, whilst using your experience to further improve on the high standards in place.
- You will be responsible for maintaining and ordering suitable supplies and stocks, as well as staff rotas and workloads.
- Previous experience is preferred, the role would suit an experienced housekeeper or supervisor looking to step up.
- Participate in and carry out various housekeeping inventories
- Positively represent the housekeeping department in daily operations meetings and other meetings as required

- Be a seasoned pro in the hospitality industry with a strong customer orientation and understanding of service delivery
- Have mastered the ins and outs of exceptional guest service
- Strong project management and personal organisational skills with the ability to balance a number responsibilities
- To ensure that the client’s vision for the stay is effectively executed.
- Oversee and check the maintenance & quality of physical items: tables; chairs; equipment; linen and the appearance of the event rooms and foyers: wood work; carpeting; lighting, etc.
- Communicating any specific jobs or issues to the team to ensure that they are all punctual, well presented, organised and able to carry out the tasks in line with James Places expectations and set standards.
- Carrying out a handover with the Team to ensure all matters are handed over, with the necessary paperwork completed.
- Carrying out a full end of shift and security close down inspection, alongside a competent manager/supervisor to include all public areas, back of house and outside areas, dealing with any issues immediately with a key focus on cleanliness. Completing all paperwork with exits/windows checked, fire exits clear and light/heating economised where possible.
- Setting an example for the rest of the team by being punctual, well-groomed and dressed in accordance with James Places’ standards.
- Liaising and obtaining up to date information from Reception and Sales and Duty Managers with regards to bookings and customer requests to ensure that you are up to date, having appropriate staffing levels to meet with business demands.
