**Unit Leader (Team Leader / Supervisor), Scunthorpe, UK**

**Scope of the Role**:

- To ensure all employees are fully aware of Health & Safety processes and procedures
- Supervise and control the allocated Operational Processes & Personnel to ensure production targets are met
- Manage unit in a cost-effective manner and to budget constraints
- Drive forward your designated areas and assist in any associated activities in order to effectively meet all key measurable objectives and targets

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage all Health & Safety aspects of your unit (your skills must include First Aid at Work - training will be provided)
- Perform shift handover covering all necessary KPI's / aspects of the unit performance
- Responsible for update of crewing board at start of shift and aligning operational heads to meet customer build plan, identifying opportunities for labour sharing or agency reduction
- Manage staff attendance via Timeware / Return to work process etc.
- Liaise with support departments to obtain required resource / activity to solve issues
- Operate 5M methodology by unit, covering all packaging and BOP, including use of Shoplogix / Mattec
- Ensure all employees are trained within unit, enabling the part to be produced and shipped, defect free
- Manage data accuracy within unit and adherence to quality standards / cycle times / process methods / production and scrap booking etc.
- Monitor / manage job pack adherence, ensuring completion before starting Production
- Ensure timely resolution of any HR issues
- Supervise area/s in the absence of the Shift Manager
- Attend any training and development courses as required to maximise role

**Person Specification**
**Essential qualifications**:

- ILM/CMI Level 3 in Leadership & Management or equivalent
- Numerate and literate to minimum O Level / GCSE “C” or equivalent

**Experience**:

- Experience working in a busy manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Computer literate and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies - 5S, Kaizen, SMED etc would be an advantage

**Behaviours**:

- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks on shift
- Influencing and persuasive style with a “Can Do” attitude with propensity to problem solve
