**About the role**
Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14-19 (£25,409 -£27,852)

Hours of Work / Working Pattern:37 hours Monday to Friday

Main Place of Work: Community Enterprise Centre

***Description**:
The role will involve enabling parent carers and young carers to focus on their own needs and access sources of information, advice and support, as appropriate and to provide a direct service to young carers and parent/carers in line with relevant legislation, guidance, regulations, and national standards.

You will also be expected to provide information, advice and signposting services to unpaid carers and carry out carers’ needs assessments.

You will need:
**Experience**

Work with children, young people and their families

**Knowledge**

An understanding of an unpaid carer’s role and their support needs

Principles of the 1989 Children Act.

Awareness of child protection and risk assessment.

Child development.

Different types of social work intervention.

Awareness and understanding of the issues in relation to children with complexity of need.

Principles of the Social Services and Well Being (Wales) Act 2014.

***Skills and aptitudes**

Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively in verbal and written form.

Ability to plan work and set priorities.

Ability to collate and evaluate information.

Ability to negotiate and liaise with individuals and groups agencies.

Ability to work as a member of a team.

Ability to work under pressure and have a flexible approach to work.

Ability to operate IT casework management systems.

***Qualifications and training**

A relevant qualification at level 2 or above (including but not exclusive to NVQ, GCSE, ILM, BTEC, City & Guilds).
