The Fellow will provide a clinical service in conjunction with colleagues & under the direction of a Consultant, which will include the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of childhood illness. The appointee will be expected to;
- Participate fully in the supervision and care of paediatric inpatients. Engage in departmental audit and governance programmes, to aid indevelopment of clinical service guidelines
- Advise clinicians in hospital and primary care regarding paediatricmatters
- Support colleagues in their clinical work and the above activities. Participate in the paediatric departmental teaching programme postgraduate, undergraduate and multi-disciplinary
- Undertake the administrative duties associated with patient care andthe administration of the department
- Deputise for absent colleagues and in exceptional unforeseencircumstances may have to perform additional duties to ensure thesafe running of the department (for additional remuneration or time off in lieu of payment).
