Community Eating Disorder Dietitian
The All-Age Eating Disorder Service is based across the county at Canterbury, Maidstone, with Specialist support offered to the Kent Adolescent Mental Health unit (Staplehurst). Geographically, we support the county of Kent and Medway, so the ability to travel is essential. You would be supported by three highly experienced specialist dietitian to advance your career and further your skills.
The post holder will be covering a varied community caseload, including outpatient clinics, community mental health inpatient wards, support to schools and acute wards when patients are admitted. We also offer group education, and the post holder may have the possibility of extending into community artificial nutrition support (if funding approved) An interest in developing skills in paediatrics, eating disorders or diabetes would be an advantage.
We are a mobile working service and offer our patients the choice of face-to-face, virtual and phone appointments. To support this, we have excellent IT access and support staff home-working where appropriate.

About the Job
- Working under the guidance of the senior specialist dietitian, to provide dietetic care to a varied and diverse caseload of patients in the community as outlined above.
- Travelling to and providing care at various sites including but not limited to community hospitals, patients’ homes, schools, and some home working.
- Delivering a proportion of care using online platforms e.g., MS Teams
- Delivering education groups
- Supporting our student training programme
Probationary Period
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
