**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Oracle DBA / Database Administrator with practical experience of development, production and business critical environments and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The Oracle DBA / Database Administrator will join the IT Department, which is made up of Infrastructure Support Specialists, Database Administrators and Software Development Teams (Oracle, JDA and.Net). This department of 23 employees is responsible forsupporting and developing enterprise wide systems. The goal of the department is to effectively design stable and secure IT systems.

As the Oracle DBA / Database Administrator you will have significant DBA experience and Good Unix / Linux and Shell scripting skills (AIX preferable).

**DUTIES**

Your duties as an Oracle DBA / Database Administrator will include:

- Provide database administration functions for all environments from Development to Production.
- Backup and recovery of all Oracle and SQL based systems
- Ensure optimal performance of Oracle and SQL based systems
- Database/Application security
- Work closely with and support other members of the IT team as required
- Operational problem root cause analysis and corrective action.
- User training, advice and guidance.
- Operational business support
- Carry out software installation, patching, upgrades and testing as required
- Configuration of monitoring and alerting
- Standardisation and Automation of the database systems
- MS SQL database support (training provided if needed)
- Provide architecture and design support to Leyland and Eindhoven IT teams
- Provide out of hours support to Leyland and Eindhoven databases

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience in DBA role (preferably Oracle) working in a development and production, business critical environment including practical knowledge of RMAN, patching, cloning
- Willing to cross train from SQL to Oracle
- Good knowledge of UNIX / Linux (preferably AIX)
- Good knowledge of SQL scripting / PL/SQL
- Oracle Apps 12.2 administration experience preferred
- Experience with ORDS desirable
