Our nursery was established in 1994. Our team has the experience, expertise and skills to look after children, ensuring we provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for them. At Pangbourne day Nursery, we take pride in the quality of child care we provide. We have a friendly, homely approach in the nursery, and help nurture children's personal, social & emotional development while also strengthening their physical skills. Our nursery staff encourage children to treat everyone with respect, and to work together with other children, staff and parents.

LEVEL 2/3 QUALIFICATION IN CHILDCARE OR ABOVE

Essential Requirements (All can be obtained through nursery)

DBS certificate

First Aid certificate

We are looking for a high-energy individual with experience managing small groups of children and teaching basic skills. The Nursery Practitioner is responsible for planning activities that help students develop their cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills. This position will provide you with the opportunity to work in a close-knit environment while also gaining the experience needed to pursue future career opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide care and support to children, parents, and staff.
- Supervise and mentor assistant nursery practitioners.
- Maintain a safe environment for children through supervision and cleaning.
- Ensure the development needs of each child are met through programming.
- Develop and manage daily schedules for children based on their needs.
- Plan activities and programs which will meet the needs of children.,Plan activities and programs which will meet the needs of children.

We are also looking for someone who is....

*a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
- is able to laugh at jokes they don't understand or don't find funny

*has a little bit of quirkiness.
- a child requests that they be an astronaut, they will be the best astronaut they can be
- comfortable telling everybody in the same room as them that they are going to the toilet

*have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune, but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
- be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.

*Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.

*be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work, with unknown substances on their clothing.
- have a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions.
- have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
- have the ability to read a ten-page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.

*Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.

*Loves being outside come rain or shine.

*Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like it.
