We are looking for a Placements Officer to join our team on a permanent basis working 36.5 hours per week (1 FTE).

This position will form an integral part of the School of Management Placements Team, taking ownership for all aspects of undergraduate placement support, focussing on the BSc Business programme. Students undertake two integral 6 month placements during their BSc Business degree - the first placement takes place in year 2, and the second in year 3.

The role will include identifying, negotiating and organising placements both within and outside of the UK, involving extensive interactions with placement providers at a mid to senior management level. You will support students throughout the recruitment process. This includes planning and delivering a varied and accessible professional development programme, which includes employability presentations to large groups of students, collaborating with employers, as well as providing one to one guidance.

The Placement Officer continues to act as a key contact for all parties throughout the duration of the placement itself, through to helping students navigate the transition period back into academic life post placement. Student support and guidance is a core component of this role and experience working with young people and understanding their specific requirements is a feature of this position.

This is a busy and varied role involving daily communication with a range of internal and external stakeholders often at a senior level. You will therefore need to have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
