**What you'll be responsible for**
- Use EPR to capture all patient activity on a daily basis within DTU; this includes being able to complete waiting lists, admissions/discharges, ward attenders and appointments. Use other software systems such as ARIA to sense-check input of data on EPR.
- Answer the telephone and take messages from patients, relatives, doctors, allied health care professionals etc and deal with any queries as appropriate.
- Be responsible for greeting all new patients, relatives and visitors and direct them to the appropriate member of staff/area while demonstrating excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary teamutilising sensitivity, empathy and ability to manage conflict.
- Answer the telephone courteously and direct enquiries as appropriate.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
**You'll learn the following whilst working at the Trust**

- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
**You'll have the following qualification/experience**:
- Excellent communication skills, organisation skills and telephone manner
- Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- EPR/Aria trained and knowledge of medical terminology (desirable)
- Previous NHS experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of cancer services (desirable)
