**Assistant Patient Pathways Administrator (Vascular)**

We have a temporary opportunity available for an **Assistant Patient Pathway Administrator.** This role is based at**John Radcliffe, OX3 9DU** within the **Vascular** department.

The hours for this role are **Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours per day, start and finish times to be discussed, 37.5 hours per week.**

This is a**Band 3**role**,**paying**£11.14 per hour.**
**Duties to include**:

- As directed by the Patient Pathway Administrators, assist in any administrational duties that may be required to ensure a full administration service is provided within the various services of the Directorate. This may include providing basic cover forthe patient pathway administrators during periods of sickness, annual leave or workload increases.
- To collect health records as required from the Medical Records Libraries or elsewhere in the hospital and to assist with the preparation and pulling of clinic notes.
- To respond to queries relating to health records, either by telephone or in person and to ensure all health records are tracked using EPR thereby maintaining accurate location records.
- To assist with the filing of patient correspondence.
- To monitor stationary stocks within the department.

To open and date stamp the departmental post and distribute appropriately, ensuring urgent referrals are brought to the attention of the Outpatient Booking teams or Patient Pathway Administrators.
- To assist the Patient Pathway Administrators with the use of Dictate IT as and when required, ensuring that the Trust 7-day turnaround is met.
- To communicate effectively using good verbal and written skills and to deal with all enquiries in a sympathetic and professional manner using tact and diplomacy where appropriate.
- To operate computer systems which are in use, or which may be introduced into the service as required
- To comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, Access to Health Records and legislation relating to confidential data.
- To undertake further training as required.
- Be able to prioritise workload and work with mínimal supervision.
- To adhere to correct manual handling procedures and policies at all times.
- To book follow up appointments accurately ensuring that the correct Referral to treatment (RTT) status is recorded in accordance with Trust guidelines.
- To ensure patients are checked in and out of clinic and future appointments are made on the day of attendance wherever possible and to ensure activity is captured from outcome forms using the HIM chart coding function in EPR.

**Skills required**:

- Knowledge of EPR, ScanIT and DictateIT would be extremely useful but full training will be given
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Attention to detail
- NHS experience desirable
- Good team player
- Motivated and able to work under pressure
- Previous experience within a similar role
