**Children's Support Worker**

**Location: Medway**

**Hours: 5 - 30 hours per week, depending on the referrals**

**Requirements: Clear DBS and experience supporting children with special needs**

**Duties**:

- To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the children using a person-centered approach.
- To observe and promote the Service Users' choice, independence dignity, privacy, fulfillment and other rights.
- To create and maintain good professional relationships with Service Users, their Family and Friends.
- To actively support other Care Assistants.
- To adhere to all regulatory/statutory obligations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Takes time to listen to the person to whom they provide care.
- Must be able to understand, remember and follow tasks, even whilst working under pressure.
- Have a kind and patient demeanor.
- Treats Service Users with dignity and respect that results in trust and cooperation.
- Sustain a nurturing environment.
- Understands and adheres to policies/regulations.
- Has the emotional strength to care for those who may be terminally ill, or suffering from post-traumatic experiences.
- Good observation skills to watch for and identify signs of change in a person's well-being.
- Uses a diplomatic tone of voice and effective body language to engage in difficult and challenging situations with the service user.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 1-12 months
Part-time hours: 5-30 per week

**Salary**: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
