What does a X do at Hillingdon?

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Head of HR. This role is integral to the development and implementation of our overall HR Strategy, which is fully aligned with our business plan.

It is an exciting time to join Hillingdon as the role will be instrumental in designing and delivering transformational change.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development and implementation of the HR Strategy for the council.
- Support the Council’s transformation change programme, managing risks effectively.
- Oversee the development and implementation of effective HR procedures/policies.
- Accountable for ensuring the HR Operations team deliver all aspects of HR administration and payroll efficiently.
- Establish and manage the overall HR budget.

About you

**Qualifications**:

- Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
- Recognised Management qualification is desirable.

**Experience**:

- Senior level experience within HR in a generalist role, working into Director level.
- Experience of managing effective transformational change and delivering the benefits.
- Experience of leading and managing teams.
- Experience of working in the public sector, ideally Council

**Skills**:

- Generalist HR skills across the full employee lifecycle.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presenting skills.
- Highly analytical and organised with a structured approach to work.
