Leading day care nursery, based in Colindale, dedicated to providing exceptional care and education for children aged 3 months to pre-school. **A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Early Years Apprentice to join their rapidly growing team**

**Duties include**:

- Have an understanding of children's development, their needs and the provision of positive play
- Care for and supervise the group of children assigned to them.
- Ensure their safety at all times.
- Take an interest in the children and their families, to treat them as individuals and with respect at all times.
- Create an interesting and stimulating environment for the child to develop all their skills.
- Provide at all times a warm and caring environment for babies and to be as consistent as possible regarding that environment.
- Provide support for any children with special needs and to liaise with senior members of staff to promote their welfare and development
- Ensure positive management of children’s behaviour.
- Ensure the ethos, implementation and legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Support a commitment to the theory and practice of equal opportunities.
- Ensure an adherence to the health and safety policy relating to the provision of play.
- Support senior members of staff to put appropriate Child Protection procedures into practice.
- Be flexible and adaptable, to assist in all areas of nursery work and to provide support for other members of staff.
- Assist in the keeping of development records and observations, and accident, incident and risk assessment records as appropriate
- Attend staff meetings and training courses as directed by senior managers.
- Attend regular out of hours training sessions as directed by course tutors in order to complete Level 2 / 3 Early Years Qualification.

**What training will the apprentice take?**
- The apprentice will achieve either the TQUK Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship or the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship
- Functional Skills English and Maths Level 2 if not exempt

The apprentice will be based in Colindale, and training will all be on site with monthly teaching sessions and a mixture of face-to-face and online delivery.

**Salary**: £6.50-£10.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
