**Responsibilities**
- Provide strong Business Partnering support, advice and guidance - collaborating with managers to ensure that managers are familiar with People policies and procedures; whilst identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Advising on employee relations cases whilst assessing emerging or ongoing issues.
- Provide project management support and expertise for the people work stream across all departmental projects to ensure legal compliance, collaboration and consistency of approach, whilst establishing credibility by quickly responding to changing priorities.
- Attending inter-departmental team meetings, TU meetings to encourage collaboration across the business, whilst fostering consistency and mitigating potential risks and issues that may affect the team’s ability to provide appropriate resources and support.
- To support Directorates and teams when managing new projects to deliver the People Strategy and facilitate implementation of wider strategic business objectives, whilst managing organisational and people change activities.
- Facilitating effective performance management and contributing to the successful implementation of the Council’s strategic objectives.
- Assisting with developing operational plans to support delivery of the Council’s People Strategy whilst being accountable for the Council’s corporate KPIs.
- Developing and supporting workforce planning to identify and minimise potential issues, utilising appropriate interventions to meet and plan for wider strategic and operational requirements; together with supporting the implementation of succession planning.
- Establish and maintain strong proactive internal and external stakeholder relationships, working with line managers, work colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure fair, transparent and effective employee relations.
- Facilitating knowledge sharing with HR Consultants for consistency of practices and providing constructive peer-to-peer feedback.
- Work collaboratively to provide guidance and support and consider interdependency across the business, and mitigating potential risks and issues that may affect the team’s ability to provide appropriate resources and service
- To encourage and support the development of high performing teams; leading to successfully implementing strategic business objectives.
- Provide proactive guidance for the HR Consultants and HR and Culture Assistants to ensure Employee Engagement by promoting the use of evidence based practice, analysing and utilising data to improve People KPI’s and take proactive action.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of Employee Relations and HR projects. Ensure service teams work allocation and projects are aligned to wider HROD service priorities
- Lead on case conferences and lesson learnt events and promote a learning organisation within the HROD community.
- Facilitate workshops/dialogical events on HR matters to managers on how to effectively support staff to develop and improve their capability and build resilience.

You will be required to work Monday-Friday (9:00-5:00pm). This is based on a 6 month contract and the pay negotiable.
