Key Role
- Produce designs and plans of water sprinkler systems conforming to Fire Industry Standard BS 9251 in AutoCAD
- Flexibility to be able to work with other design team members or on own
- Develop and design of the Sprinkler system by co-ordinating and communicating with other parties involved in the project process
- Co-ordinating and ordering materials to site

Essential
- AutoCAD
- Have a knowledge and understanding of the construction business

- The ability to co-ordinate and communicate with other trades and services, building construction and liaising with clients and team members.

The tasks involve:

- Requesting &Collecting information from all relevant parties for the preparation of fully designed working drawings including site, architects, consultants, builders and other trades.
- Ensure designs are produced to the highest standard and complying with relevant British Standards and codes of practice
- complete working drawings in accordance with the appropriate design codes including establishing pipe sizes by hydraulic calculations.
- produce from design drawings, list of materials for various purposes including material procurement, estimating of variations, schedule of rates etc.
- Forward drawings / quantities of materials listed to suppliers / subcontractors for procurement purposes.
- Order materials and monitor and maintain levels of equipment
- Other activities as instructed by the Project manager / Design engineer
- Familiarise & comply with all company policies & procedures
- Experienced and confident communicator able to build strong working relationships
- Must have an understanding of client specifications, drawings and be able to advise clients of features of the products as and when required
- Act as strong team player being able to work under pressure with an office environment, supporting colleagues in other aspects of the business.
- Accurate documentation
- Flexible in tasks and duties
- Adhere to Company values and mission statement and working toward the company vision

You’ll be trained and shown by RAD how to complete and carry out the tasks involved with the new role.

Desirable but not essential
- Producing hydraulic calculations, Canute FHC (or industry related hydraulic calculation software )
- Knowledge of BS Fire safety
- Possibly attending site meetings independently, when necessary and where design matters are on the agenda.
