**Summary of the Security Officer role**

As the Security Officer, your primary duties will be to deliver a welcoming and friendly front-of-house service to the organisation, by ensuring the safety and security of the site and providing excellent customer service to all visitors and contractors.

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, you will be based at our site in Cramlington, Northumberland. You will be required to work in line with our shift pattern. The working hours are: two days 06:00-18:00 and two nights 18:00-06:00, then four days off. There is also an element of flexible cover required.

**Your responsibilities**
- Monitoring and authorising entrance and departure of visitors and contractors and ensure there are no breaches of security or EHS policies and procedures.
- Providing main reception cover by answering and directing calls.
- Maintaining constant alertness and vigilance whilst on duty, to ensure site security.
- Providing a high level of customer service by answering telephone calls, taking messages, dealing with queries and offering assistance to all visitors to security.
- Inspect and direct motor vehicles to specified locations for the delivery of goods and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of visitor logs and incident logs.
- Conduct effective shift handovers.

**Requirements for the role**
- Previous experience within a front-of-house security role is advantageous.
- Good communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to work without supervision or part of a team.
- Must be flexible and able to follow our shift pattern.
- Comfortable dealing with potential conflict situations, ensuring minimum disruption.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Previous knowledge of a roll call system would be beneficial.
