Job Title: Compliance Inspector

Location: Ridsdale, Hexham

Salary: £37,263

What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting compliance inspections on all explosive licenced buildings and Hazardous locations on site, against the requirements of Explosive Regulation 2014, company policy, process, and procedures
  • Issuing Improvement Notices (IN's) or STOP Actions where non-compliance has been identified
  • Supporting and advising area owners and/or union appointed safety reps during local workplace inspections, along with verifying the accuracy of internal checks
  • Completing building condition reports, reporting findings, and making recommendations to the identified action owners
  • Supporting and advising to achieve action closeout working with business Subject Matter Expert's to agree a solution
  • Verifying the suitability of locations used for trials, operating under Trials Readiness Certificates or permits
  • Conducting stock check on energetics or explosives articles and verifying they do not exceed the explosive licence
  • Reviewing the storage arrangements or permitted operations against the work area safety conditions (WASC) document

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Ability to halt operations when standards are not met
  • Focused and able to perform inspections according to the agreed plan
  • Comfortable collaborating with various teams
  • Proficiency in using IT tools, including MS Office packages
  • Capability to interpret regulations, approved codes of practice, and guidance

  • Audit Qualification

By joining the High Hazard team as a Compliance Inspector, you will play a vital role in assuring the ongoing safety and legal compliance of our Land UK sites. This is an exciting opportunity for you to get involved in a varied role where no two days are the same. Reporting into the High Hazard Advisor and working alongside the wider SHE team, this role will offer you the chance to build and develop your knowledge in the area. We will support you with additional qualifications and there will be opportunities for future career progression.
