Reed Sales have partnered with an engineering/ construction company who are looking to recruit an external sales representative in line with their continued growth within the UK. This is predominantly an ‘on the road’ role promoting the brand and achievingset sales targets through new and existing customers. Covering Kent and the Southeast with occasional travel to Midlands you may be required to stay away from time to time.

External Sales Representative Role and Responsibilities include:

- To promote, develop and increase profitable sales for the Company by creating new customer relationships whilst ensuring the highest level of customer service.
- To achieve KPI's/Tasks set on a Weekly/Monthly basis in readiness for your fortnightly one to one with the Sales Director.
- To liaise with internal and external departments to optimize quality of service, sustain good working relationships and achieve targets
- Provide advice on company brand, products and services to Architects, Engineers and Main Contractors.
- Processing, calculating and submitting offers
- To provide support and other administrative duties should they be required
- Take ownership and responsibility for developing a strong customer base/area, approaching potential customers/specifiers with enthusiasm and building rapport to create strong relationships.
- Have a proactive approach to sales and optimise the potential of both new and existing customers.
- Take time to identify accounts that would benefit from a more hands-on approach.
- React promptly to all tenders, quotations and estimates in accordance with Company pricing policies, completing all paperwork accurately with attention to detail.
- To produce performance reports for your accounts as requested.

Skillset and experience required for the external sales representative include:

- A high-level of self-motivation with the ability to work alone
- Knowledge of a sales process ideally account management and business development
- Experience working a sales based role within the engineering or construction industry is key (preference is steel industry but not essential)
- Business Development skills with excellent persuasive negotiation skills
- Evidence of working to KPIs under pressure
- Approachable, with a proven ability to problem solve effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Driven to exceed sales targets
- Computer literate
- Must have a valid UK driving licence
